The band Ocean Grove, made up of John Taylor (vocals/guitar), Ryan Liestman (Keys/Backing Vocals), Greg Garbowsky (bass/backing vocals), Jack Lawless (drums), might look familiar, and chances are, you’ve seen them on the road! Backing up the Jonas Brothers for several years, the group steered away from their frontmen and are releasing music all their own.
Ocean Grove‘s new EP Another Place to Stay which is set to be released today, June 21st is a perfect set of songs for summer. The upbeat lyrics and fun beats makes it an EP that you can dance around the room too. The song “Away” is a great song that is a must for any roadtrip. It’s the kind of song that gets blasted with the windows down in the car as you leave your town and start to get away. “Won’t Say Goodbye,” has a very acoustic to feel to it in the beginning and then gradually adds more instruments to it, building up. “Take It Easy,” is a great song that focuses on a break up where he wants her back and reflects on what had happened in the past. “The Best” is a song that will make you want to move and get you motivated to go for your goals. It also tells the story of making it big and being successful. “So Cool” is about getting with the person that is cool and trying to be like them. It’s a song anyone can relate too. A great followup to their first EP Little Record.
