Go behind the scenes with MGM’s new movie, FAME! “A reinvention of the original 1980 hit film, Fame follows a talented group of dancers, singers, actors, and artists over four years at the New York City High School of Performing Arts, a diverse, creative powerhouse where students from all walks of life are given a chance to live out their dreams and achieve real and lasting fame…the kind that comes only from talent, dedication, and hard work. In an incredibly competitive atmosphere, plagued by self-doubt, each student’s passion will be put to the test. In addition to their artistic goals, they have to deal with everything else that goes along with high school, a tumultuous time full of schoolwork, deep friendships, budding romance, and self-discovery. As each student strives for his or her moment in the spotlight, they’ll discover who among them has the innate talent and necessary discipline to succeed. With the love and support of their friends and fellow artists, they’ll find out who amongst them will achieve Fame..”

MTV VMAs!

Posted by Caitlin | 3 comments

We’d love to post the video, but I’m sure it’s nothing you haven’t heard. PLUS, VIACOM will request us to take it down. All we have to say, if you didn’t watch the first 5 minutes of the MTV 2009 Video Music Awards, you may have missed the most dramatic moments of all time.

First on the red carpet, interviews with the nervous 15 year old Justin Bieber were key, alongside Taylor Lautner & Asher Book from V-Factory for FAME. The music video for “Fame” sung by Naturi Naughton premiered right there!

Starting off the show with the most PHENOMENAL tribute to the King, Michael Jackson, Madonna gave a very heartfelt speech about the fallen King of Pop and supported his lost childhood. Madonna gave tribute to the love he had for his childhood and the love he had for his life.

Host Russell Brand talked (not sure if anyone listened after last year’s horrendous show)…
Country Cutie Taylor Swift won the “Best Female Video” award (from the gorgeous new teen King Taylor Lautner. In the middle of her heartfelt speech, Rapper Kanye West, stormed the stage, took T-Sweezy’s microphone and told Taylor that he’d let her continue, but Beyonce’s music video was the best of all time, “‘I’m sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time”, leaving the poor girl stunned onstage. Taylor didn’t get to finish her speech, but looking out into the crowd was all she needed. The cameras showed West being booed and Taylor’s best friend, Abigail, standing up to give the girl the standing ovation she deserved. The crowd joined in and every time Kanye was shown on the screen, he was greeted with angry crowd boos. (West was later escorted from the arena and his performance for the night was canceled).

Besides the drama filled FIRST 10 MINUTES, the night went on as scheduled. Green Day took home the moon man for “Best Rock Video”. Justin Bieber & Miranda Cosgrove introduced Taylor Swift as she performed “You Belong With Me” while dancing through the subways and on taxis! Next performance, Pete Wentz from Fallout Boy & Gabe Saporta from Cobra Starship introduced Lady Gaga’s performance which included falling chandeliers and lots of… blood? Well, at least she sounded good.

Britney Spears wins “Best Pop Video”… surprise, surprise. Green Day performed and let a ton of people on stage to party with them! Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson came out and introduced a new trailer for “New Moon”. Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford & Ne-Yo introduces Beyonce who put on a beautiful dance filled number.

Following Beyonce, T.I. wins an award for “Best Male Video” from jail… MUSE performs… Then, KANYE WEST is escorted from the building and has his performance canceled (not shown on television). Eminem wins a well deserved moon man for “Best Hip Hop Video” where he classily thanks his fans and family. He presents the next award to Lady GaGa for “Best New Artist“. Pink performs next, singing and doing an entire phenomenal acrobatic act. That’s two years in row with brilliant performances.

It all came down to the last video, “Video of The Year“, which was presented to the ever fabulous Beyonce. In one of the most heart-warming moments of any MTV Video Music Award, Beyonce smiles, grabs her award, and calls Taylor Swift back to the stage, to give the girl her spotlight for winning her first ever moon man. Personally, the moment gave me chills. To win the biggest award of the night, and to step out of the spotlight to give your time to someone else is the most amazing things anyone could ever do. Props to you, Beyonce. That was a brilliant thing to do. (side note- Taylor thanked her fans, her little brother’s high school & our favorite, Lucas TIll)

The show was not over at that moment though, as it came back Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys rocking out to his new song “Welcome to New York”.

As the night was dedicated to the King of Pop, it was only appropriate to end it with him, as the trailer for his new movie, “This Is It” showed. Opening on October 28th, 2009, it’s sure to be a great dedication to the late performer.

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards was sure filled with tons of drama, amazing performances & most importantly in this business, great outfits.

See a list of nominees & winners under the cut.

If You Haven’t Found a Summer Jam Yet…

Posted by Caitlin | 2,673 comments

I’ve picked a few for you.

1. (I Make) Good Girls Go Bad- Cobra Starship ft. Leighton Meester

Who knew this Gossip Girl cutie could bust a tune. “Good Girls” features Cobra in an element that is a step away from pop music, and we love it! Next thing we know, frontman Gabe Saporta, will be donning plaid and khaki and drinking tea with Blair Waldorf.

2. Hey- Mitchel Musso

Musso’s first single from his self-titled debut album isn’t as bad as we thought it could have been! (Just Kidding) Mitchel mixes pop and rock in every single one of his album songs, including “Let’s Make This Last 4Ever” from the Hannah Montana Soundtrack. I had the pleasure of seeing Mitchel live in concert, and trust me, that’s one super hot summer show you don’t want to miss!

3. One Time- Justin Bieber

This Canadian cutie is famous on YouTube so ya’ll know him as that little kid busting out to Chris Brown and Usher. Well, he’s back as a grown up and his first single is a smash. Produced by Usher, the song is simply about “puppy dog love.” What could be more perfect for teenaged summer romance? With the looks of Ryan Sheckler and the voice of an R&B sensation, Bieber is on the map!

4. Body Language- Jesse McCartney ft. T-Pain

The newest single of McCartney’s (aka Pretty Boy) newly relaunched album, “Departure: Recharged” with T-Pain (aka Nappy Boy) is off the charts smokin’ hot. Of course, not many people can pull off a “Konichiwa” in a song, but Jesse makes it sound so hot! Ladies, he’ll get you on this one. The video will for sure be hot.

5. Delete You- Ashley Tisdale

Nothing more than a super pop break up anthem, but it’s catchy and fun. In “Delete You,” Tisdale’s got you screaming her lyrics and making you remember your last love. Oh yes, she goes there. This is in fact a “Guilty Pleasure” as her album is craftily entitled.

6. You Belong With Me- Taylor Swift

If you haven’t heard this one yet, you must be living in a box. Swift outshines herself, yet once again, in this teen love story song, in which the hero needs to realize he belongs with the songstress herself. If you’re having a bad day, I’d recommend this song… in the music video form, because her co-star, Lucas Till, is just so good looking!

7. Let Go- Aaron Carter

What? Aaron Carter is still releasing music? I bet you didn’t even know that. But here at MissExclusive.com, we did, because we love Aaron! (Well, at least I do!) His newest “comeback single” is entitled “Let Go” about… get this, about his love for HILARY DUFF. Didn’t they break up in like, 2006? Really Aaron, love you bro, but it really is time to “Let Go!!!” I can’t put a finger on what exactly draws me in, but it’s a pretty decent song though! Aaron Carter World Tour 2010!!!!!

8. Take My Hand (remix)- The Cab ft. Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday

Trust me when I say I did not like this song when it first came out. I thought Cassadee’s voice didn’t blend well with The Cab’s frontman, Alex DeLeon’s, voice. After a few listens, I came to the conclusion that the song is great! The techno remix and the blended voices. It’s a perfect driving song!

9. Zero Gravity- David Archuleta

I HEARD THIS SONG ON THE RADIO! I had the opportunity to go see David live in March, and was utterly impressed with this song. When Archuleta rereleased it in his exclusive iTunes fan pack, I couldn’t have been more happy at the work he produced. It’s a perfect summer song, and David’s sultry voice still shines with the uptempo song, something he’s not very accustomed to.

10. Here We Go Again- Demi Lovato

Well, one thing is clear. Demi Lovato should stick to making music, although I do love Sonny With A Chance. This girls got the voice and the diva-style look. The new single, off the Disney princess’s second album,”Here We Go Again”, is catchy and rocking the charts online and on Radio Disney. Hopefully this girl will get some real radio airplay!

11. Battlefield- Jordin Sparks

I didn’t like this song at first. But I saw it live, and the kick I had been waiting for was in Jordin’s passion! This girl can belt a tune! Not such a smart decision releasing her sophomore album the same day as Disney Princess Demi Lovato, but she managed to fit a solid second right on the iTunes chart. Her next few singles appear to be the ones we should be waiting for, but as of right now, we get “Battlefield”.

12.  Lost In Your Own Life- Alexa Vega

Yes, it’s that girl from “Spy Kids” and now she’s in her own show “Ruby & the Rockits.” At first, this song is as deep as a cereal bowl, but when the chorus hits, the song is one for the inspirational book. This song’s up on iTunes now and is actually in the Top 100. It can’t be that bad then, right?

13. Love Struck- V Factory

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: these boys are not your average boyband! With their first single off the new album in the works, V Factory promises a stronger second single. (Is that even possible?) Asher Book is the untimely Justin Timberlake of the group and is starring as the lead vocalist, Marco, in the new movie “Fame” which hits theaters September 25th! “I’m gonna live forever!”

14. My Worst Nightmare- Forever The Sickest Kids

I’m not sure what FTSK is going to pull out of their pockets for the band’s next single, but if I were running them, I’d pick this one. It’s playful and has a beat that is infectious to anyone listening. The vocals on this track are perfect mixing all singers of the band PERFECTLY. Bravo, FTSK.

15. Don’t Look Back- School Boy Humor

It’s classy. It’s deep. It’s catchy. All in one song. The band’s pretty funny. I recommend seeing them on tour. And buying their CD!

16. See U In The Dark- Honor Society

Okay, so I could tell you how I disapprove of the strategies taken to make this band who they are now, I’ll bite my tongue. The new “See U In The Dark” is great. Honor Society’s new album drops in September and it should be pretty good from what I’ve heard of the album preview! If you’re seeing the Jonas Brothers in concert, I recommend seeing Honor Society perform on their “Full Moon Crazy” Tour.
