MAIARA WALSH’S ENCHANTED WEEKEND
Young actress and philanthropist Maiara Walsh, who’s best known for her roles on ABC‘s “Desperate Housewives,” and ABC Family‘s “Switched At Birth, is teaming up with “Give Kids The World”–a 70-acre nonprofit storybook resort in Central Florida–to give kids with life-threatening illnesses (and their families) an Enchanted Weekend. Maiara and ten other young celebs will be flying to Orlando, Florida from September 14-16 for a hands-on weekend with the children.
In an exclusive with The Huffington Post, Maiara explained why the charity is so near and dear to her heart.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled about Enchanted Weekend! I’ve been planning this interactive weekend for a year now, and have faced many challenges to see it come to life. Now that it’s here, I am overjoyed!”
Maiara and the other celebs involved with the charity are working hard to raise $20,000 for Enchanted Weekend. She dished to The Huffington Post:
“My goal is to inspire these incredible children and send them home with new hope and the knowledge that they are loved and appreciated. I trust that the experience will touch the hearts of everyone involved.”
